It is with mixed emotions that we announce that after 13 years of dedicated work with Bayer, Jim Westhead from our Environmental Science team, will commence his retirement in April, 2020.
Jim commenced at Bayer in August 2006, after 20 years of being the owner and manager of a Pest Management Distribution company; a Bayer distributor of Pest Management products.
Jim initially started as a contractor, in the role of Territory Sales Manager (Pest) – SA, TAS, VIC & WA. After 2 years, this role became a permanent position within Bayer. Jim’s focus was not only in sales, but also concentrated on customer service and technical training to the industry.
Jim’s experience in all aspects of the Pest Management industry was utilised by Bayer and in the past 13 years, he has been a loyal servant to both Bayer and the Industry. Jim also was TSM in the turf side of our ES business for 18 months.
Some of his achievements with Bayer over that time have been:
- Recipient of both State and National Bayer Integrity awards in 2012 & 2013.
- Was instrumental in the creation and management of the Premise Professionals Program – a sales promotional scheme designed to enhance sales of our Imidacloprid termiticide – post patent.
- On the national board and state committee of the Australian Environmental Pest Managers Association.
On behalf of the Environmental Science business unit, Crop Science division, we would like to thank Jim for his service to our company and wish him well as he prepares for retirement.
Jim’s last day will be 10 April, 2020 ahead of a period of leave leading up to his retirement later in June, this year.
We wish you well Jim!
