An AEPMA NSW ACT State Council meeting was held on 20 July 2015 at the office of Ensystex. The Chairman Patrick Legey welcomed the attendees including Life member Mr Greg Moon and Oliver Clarke (son of Shane Clarke). Oliver’s keen interest in Pestforce and Pest Management made him a welcome visitor and he contributed well to the Council’s meeting. After the usual review of apologies and previous minutes, the meeting discussed such issues as Codes of Practice, Australian Standards, review of the Competency training package and much more.
So in a few words what did we talk about?
Codes of Practices are tools for the Industry as well as for the consumer. Use them to your advantage and display your professionalism. Be sure you and your staff know what there is in it! With winter upon us it is a good time for everyone to get familiar with these valuable Industry documents. There are presently 3 Codes: Control of Bed Bug Infestation in Australia, Pest Management in the Food Industry and Prior to Purchase Specialist Timber Pest Inspections.
Watch out for others coming up.
Australian Standard 3660.2- 2000 is in review and don’t forget 3660.1 - 2014 for preconstruction is out. Do we all have a copy and have you read it? Remember an Australian Standard is a minimum requirement.
Pest Management Competencies new training package is been reviewed by Education Department auditors.
