Just a few words about our good friend and colleague Peter Lamond (Field Biologist with Rentokil for over 30 years). Sadly, Peter passed away on Saturday 12 November.
The funeral was held on Tuesday 22 November at Guilford Community of Christ Church (Sydney) which I attended along with an excellent representation from the Pest Management Industry, as well as chemical manufacturers, supplier representatives and TAFE teachers. Peter had a lot of friends in our Industry and they filled a good part of the church.
I first met Peter at Ultimo TAFE in the early 80s when he replaced our regular teacher in the Pest Control course and what fun that was! Peter had a cunning ability to make people laugh and learn at the same time. He was a regular speaker at both AEPMA and Rapid Solutions conferences and entertained the attendees with a repertoire of what can go wrong in pest management - that was his way of teaching people what not to do. Peter was a lovely and decent man and a minister of the church.
His more recent emails to me were partly in English and partly in French (my native country) as Peter was a very keen linguist and very good with languages. His French was excellent. Peter was a very smart man. Rentokil has lost one of their best men and the Pest Management Industry has lost a legend and a good friend.
Rest en paix mon ami, you will be missed by many.

Last AEPMA NSW ACT State Council meeting was held at the offices of Ensystex at Auburn on 17 October 2016 at 4pm and was well attended by Council members and guests. Thank you to Andrew Knight, our host, for the afternoon refreshments and cakes.
As usual, a lot of issues were discussed including the review of the AS 3660 series including the 3660.2 draft, which is now available for comments until 24 January 2017. Codes of Practice were also discussed as well as the recent FAOPMA/ AEPMA conference which was a sell-out. All present who attended the conference agreed it was a great event.
Mr Gary Stephenson and Mr Don Wilson were jointly nominated to represent NSW AEPMA on the Department of Primary Industry (DPI) NSW Pest Animal Council.
Congratulations to Competitive Pest Control for again winning the NSW and National Pest Manager of the Year Award.
A good part of the meeting was again dedicated to what should be required for Licencing in NSW. It was great to see the attendees working so hard at polishing a very good proposal to be put to the National Board and the EPA in the near future. We will keep you posted on the progress.
A special thank you to Ensystex and Staff for hosting the meeting. We did not finish till 7pm and I am sure it was a late night for them.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome new NSW AEPMA members or re -joining members Mr David Senior, Senior Pest Management Ingleburn, Trent Hampshire, Property Protect Mudgee, Steve Butcher, Riverside Pest Management Deniliquin, Brian Tabone, Evo Pest Control Oatlands, Frank Prater, FJ Now Pest and Building Stockton, Josh Rolff, New England Pest Management Armidale.
