The Queensland Department of Health wishes to inform of important changes proposed to the legislation governing pest management in Queensland, and to seek feedback on these changes.
A consultation paper has been prepared to inform pest management technicians and the broader pest management industry of the proposed changes. It outlines the key aspects of the proposed regulatory scheme, which involves the integration of the Pest Management Act 2001 and subordinate legislation into the proposed new Medicines Poisons and Therapeutic Goods (MPTG) legislation currently being drafted. Please read the consultation paper before completing the consultation feedback form.

Feedback can be submitted by completing either the:
• online form via the website, or
• a printable PDF form which can then be returned via:
o e-mail to mptg.bill@health.qld.gov.au, or
o post to MPTG Feedback – Pest Management, Queensland Health, PO Box 2368, Fortitude Valley BC QLD 4006.
The closing date for feedback is 12 March 2017 at 11:00pm
Please note that this consultation is specifically for the pest management industry at this stage. Broader public consultation regarding the MPTG Bill is proposed to take place later in 2017.
