Stephen Ware (National Executive Director) and Patrick Legey (NSW Chairman) were pleased to welcome in Sydney, on behalf of AEPMA, a delegation from China led by Ms. Xu Jingfang (Deputy Director of the National Termite Control Center of China). The delegation included Mr. Tan Sujin (Deputy Head of the Termite Control Institute of Chengdu City), Ms. Zhu Qinfen (Deputy Director of the Property Management Transaction Center of Shanghai City), Mr. Chen Shi (Deputy Head of the Termite Control Institute of Nanning City), Mr. Zheng Xiangyang (Deputy Head of the Housing and Urban-rural Construction Bureau of Ruian City) and Ms. Chen Jianqiu (Division Head of the Housing and Urban-rural Construction Department of Zhejiang Province).
The delegation was keen to learn about our Pest Management systems, technology and equipment used in Australia especially on termite control. They were also very interested in how AEPMA operated with the Industry.
Of particular interest to the Chinese officials were our Codes of Practice, Australian Standards, Regulations and even our training packages. Traditional treated zones are used rather than Baiting Systems for termites in China and there may be a massive opportunity for our Associate members trading in in the baiting kind of work.
It is great to see our Industry Association recognised overseas, as well as at home and we have since welcomed the National Termite Centre of China as a new International Member.
